Gender humour: observatory of women’s and men’s identity through humour (GRIALE OBSERVA)

The GRIALE OBSERVA research project aims to fulfil the following objectives: (1) To analyse gender identity in female and male humour discourses; (2) To investigate the development of humour competence in children aged 9 and 10; (3) To interweave the development of humour competence with the construction and consolidation of personal, social and cognitive identity; (4) To determine the linguistic mechanisms that play a role as metapragmatic traces of humour discourse; (5) To collect a corpus of children’s humour (humorous narratives) and adult humour (humorous monologue, spontaneous conversation, digital discourses, journalistic discourses); (6) To integrate these corpuses into a metapragmatic corpus of humorous discourses and to develop a corpus of humorous narratives (humorous monologue, spontaneous conversation, digital discourses, journalistic discourses); and (7) To develop a corpus of humorous narratives and adult humorous discourses; (6) To integrate these corpuses into an open-access computer platform that will be the start of an observatory of the various aspects of gender and identity imbricated in the discourse of humour. This observatory (called OBServaHUMOR) could have applications in the fields of language teaching, sociolinguistics and advertising.
