Juan Luis Jiménez Ruiz

Juan Luis Jiménez Ruiz is an Associate Professor of General Linguistics at the Department of Spanish Philology, General Linguistics and Theory of Literature at the University of Alicante. He is an expert in clinical linguistics and lexicography. Furthermore, he has also been a member of the editorial team of the Diccionario General Ilustrado de la Lengua Española for the Biblograf publishing house. He has also participated in the review, correction and addition of neologisms for the 1988 edition of the Diccionario Escolar VOX. Apart from this he produced a lexicography as an active editor for the Centro de Lexicografía (VOX) in Malaga, where he prepared the 1990 editions for the dictionaries Manual and Práctico. He is currently part of the research team of the project “Etiquetaje pragmático para un observatorio de la identidad de mujeres y hombres a través del humor. La plataforma OBSERVAHUMOR.COM” (OBSERVAHUMOR.COM) PROMETEO/2021/079 of the GRIALE research group. He has published more than 60 works on different fields of linguistics, including the study of connotative lexical fields, the analysis of the principles of symptomatic semantics, sociolinguistics, the epistemology of language and the methodology of linguistic research.
