Marta Garrote has been a doctorate associate professor at the Department of Philologies and their Didactics at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at the Autonomous University of Madrid since 2017. The most remarkable period in her experience was as researcher in the Computer Science Linguistics Laboratory at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts from 1999 until 2011, when she collaborated on 8 research projects, among which are the C-ORAL-ROM and MA2VICMR European projects. This work led to several publications, along with a book on the corpus of child speech which is pioneering in this field. She has also developed a line of research on computer linguistics which is applied both to education research and teaching a second language.
