Website: grialeobserva.dfelg.ua.es

The GRIALE OBSERVA research project aims to fulfil the following objectives: (1) to analyse gender identity in humorous discourse from men and women; (2) to research development of the humour competence in 9 and 10-year-old children; (3) to interweave development of the humour competence with construction and consolidation of personal, social and cognitive identity; (3) to determine the linguistic mechanisms which influence humorous discourse, such as metapragmatic markers; (4) to collect a corpus on child humour (humorous tales) and adult humour (stand-up comedy, spontaneous conversation, digital discourse, journalistic discourse); (5) to integrate this corpus into a digital, open access platform which marks the beginning of an observatory of different aspects of gender and identity which are interwoven into humorous discourse. This observatory (named OBServaHUMOR) may potentially be used in language teaching, sociolinguistics and advertising.
